Cosmetic Veneers at Kedron Dental Centre
Veneers are a popular choice of treatment for patients with crooked, stained or damaged teeth. If you have a chipped tooth or one that is showing signs of wear and tear then consider having a veneer. There are two different types of Veneers:
Composite Veneers – Composite resin veneers are usually placed on the tooth in just one appointment. These are used to repair smaller chips or stains. While these are a more affordable option than porcelain veneers, they last 4-8 years and require more maintenance as they are more prone to chipping.
Porcelain veneers – Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain used to recreate the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel. A more durable and longer-lasting option, porcelain veneers can last 12-25 years and rarely require maintenance.
Are Veneers for me?
There are a wide variety of reasons why patients opt for treatment with dental veneers:
- Worn teeth – teeth that have become badly worn through excessive grinding or by carbonated drinks, as well as those that have been chipped or broken, can benefit from veneers
- A chipped tooth
- Teeth out of alignment
- Gaps in your teeth – spaces or gaps between your teeth can easily be closed using dental veneers, giving you a more uniform-looking smile
- Stained teeth – badly stained teeth that cannot be improved by teeth whitening can be greatly improved by dental veneers
- Crooked teeth – depending on the case for crooked teeth it is sometimes better for the patient to look more into orthodontics or invisalign however for teeth that are not severely crooked veneers placed over their front surface will give a straight and perfectly aligned-looking smile.
